Description

Typed letter signed, one page, 8,25 x 11,5 inch, personal stationery, Küsnacht-Zürich (Switzerland), 24.10.1938, in German, to Dr. Georgette Boner - among other things, concerning the sending of a booklet by Alexey Remizov (1877-1957 in Paris, Russian modernist writer whose creative imagination veered to the fantastic and bizarre), signed in blue ink "C. G. Jung", with very mild signs of wear - in nearly very fine condition.

In parts:

Translated:
"Dear Miss Doctor,
Receive my deepest thanks for kindly sending Alexey Remisov's booklet. My wife would also like to thank you very much for this. I'll put it back to you. The numbers of the photographs are E 34 and E 35.
I lost the bet. The devil knows why a P&O boat comes to be called 'Maloya'. I have currently credited you 5 francs because I don't know whether you are still in Zurich. Otherwise I would have gladly sent you the Feuflieber [five franc piece] wrapped in cotton wool. If you are still here, please let me know. [...]"

Carl Gustav Jung was a Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who founded analytical psychology. He was born on July 26, 1875, in Kesswil, Switzerland, and died on June 6, 1961, in Küsnacht, Switzerland. Jung is considered one of the most important figures in the history of psychology, and his ideas have had a lasting impact on the field.

Jung's work focused on the importance of the individual's psychological development and the integration of the conscious and unconscious aspects of the mind. He believed that the individual psyche was made up of both personal and collective unconscious elements, and that the process of individuation was crucial for personal growth and self-realization.

One of Jung's most famous concepts is the archetype, which he believed to be universal symbols and patterns that are present in the collective unconscious of all human beings. He also developed the idea of the anima and animus, representing the feminine and masculine aspects of the psyche, and the concept of the persona, which is the mask or facade that individuals present to the outside world.

Overall, Carl Gustav Jung was a visionary thinker whose ideas have had a profound impact on our understanding of the human psyche. His work continues to be relevant and influential, and his legacy as a pioneering psychologist is still felt today.
