Alexandre Dumas (pere) Autograph

Autograph letter signed, one page, 7,25 x 9,5 inch, Paris, 11.01.1866, in French, to Messrs. Lassalle and Meulan - concerning a payment for the 3rd Spanish volume of `The Count of Monte Cristo`*, written and signed in black ink "Alex Dumas", attractively mounted (removable) for display with a photograph, shows Alexandre Dumas (pere) in a half length portrait (altogether 16,5 x 11,75 inch), with a intersecting letter folds, a few pinholes to the lower corners and very mild signs of wear - in fine condition.

"Chers messieurs,
Soyez assez bons pour remettre à M. Dercheux dont la quittance vaudra la mienne les Deux cent cinquante francs que vous avez à me donner pour le 3e volume espagnol du Cte de Mont [Monte Cristo]. La quittance vaudra la mienne.

"Dear sirs,

* The Count of Monte Cristo (French: Le Comte de Monte-Cristo) is an adventure novel written by French author Alexandre Dumas (père) completed in 1844. It is one of the author's most popular works - it was translated into Spanish in 1846 and this translation soon saw new editions.
