Typed letter signed, one page, 8,25 x 11,75 Inch, `Herbert von Karajan - Staatsoper Berlin` stationery, Aachen, 13.04.1942, in German, Karajan assesses the artist Dr. Siegmund Skraup, signed in dark wax crayon, attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a photograph, shows Karajan as conductor (altogether 16,5 x 11,75 inch), with intersecting letter folds, perforated to the left edge, and very mild signs of age wear to the edges - in fine condition.

"Herr Siegmund Skraup ist seit Dezember 1939 mehrfach gastweise und seit dieser Spielzeit in fester Verpflichtung hier tätig. Ich habe in ihn einen feinsinnigen Künstler kennen gelernt. Seine Inszenierungen waren stets aus dem Geiste der Musik entstanden und in restloser Einfindung in den Stil des betr. Werkes ausgearbeitet. [...]"
