Biography (AI generated)

Andrew James Summers was born on July 9, 1960 in Newcastle, England. He is an English musician, songwriter, and record producer.

Summers started playing the guitar at age 10 and was heavily influenced by the blues music of Jimmy Reed and Muddy Waters. After attending college, he began playing in local bands before joining the punk band Siouxsie and the Banshees in 1976. He left the band in 1978 and formed The Police with Sting and Stewart Copeland.

The Police went on to become one of the most successful rock bands of the 1980s, selling more than 70 million records worldwide. Summers wrote many of the band’s biggest hits, including “Roxanne” and “Every Breath You Take.” He also co-wrote the hit “Don’t Stand So Close to Me” with Sting.

After The Police disbanded in 1984, Summers embarked on a successful solo career. He released four solo albums between 1985 and 1994, and collaborated with a variety of artists including Robert Fripp, Robert Plant, and David Sylvian. He also produced records for The Cure, Crowded House, and other bands.

In the 2000s, Summers reunited with Sting and Copeland to tour and record new material as The Police. The reunion was a huge success, with the band selling out stadiums around the world and winning several Grammy Awards. The trio also released a live album and DVD in 2007.

Summers continues to perform and record with various artists and has recently released two solo albums, “Metal Dog” (2010) and “Circus Money” (2014). He is also an active philanthropist and has worked with a number of charities throughout his career.
