Typed letter signed, one page, 8 x 11,75 inch, personal stationery, Zurich, 26.06.1962, in German, to Mr Hans Frohofer - concerning corrections of his textbook (13th edition) of organic chemistry, signed in blue ballpoint ink "P. Karrer", with intersecting mailing folds and mild creases - in fine to very fine condition.

"Da die letzte (13.) Auflage meines Lehrbuches der organischen Chemie nahezu erschöpft ist, beabsichtigt der Verleger, mittels des noch vorhandenen Drucksatzes einen Neudruck auszuführen, in welchem nur Fehler, die in der letzten Auflage stehen geblieben sind, sowie evt. Stellen, die durch die Forschung der letzten 3 Jahre völlig überholt wurden, korrigiert bezw. abgeändert werden könnten.
Ich wäre Ihnen daher sehr dankbar, wenn Sie denjenigen Abschnitt des Buches, dessen Gestaltung Sie in der letzten Auflage massgebend beeinflussten, durchsehen und mir mitteilen würden, ob darin evt noch Fehler stehen geblieben sind oder ob es darin Stellen gibt, die dem gegenwärtigen Stand der Forschung offensichtlich widersprechen..."

"Since the last (13th) edition of my textbook on organic chemistry is almost exhausted, the publisher intends to reprint the existing print set, correcting or modifying only errors that have been left in the last edition, as well as any passages that have been completely outdated by the research of the last 3 years.
I would therefore be very grateful if you would review the section of the book whose content is significantly influenced by you in the last edition and tell me whether there are still any mistakes or if there are any passages in it that obviously contradict the current state of research..."
