Hector Berlioz Autograph

Autograph letter signed, two pages (both sides), 4,75 x 7,75 inch, London, 16.05.[1848], in French, to the music publisher Étienne Masset / to the music business of M. Troupenas - concerning the settlement of a promissory note, written and signed in dark ink "H. Berlioz", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a photograph, shows Hector Berlioz seated on a chair (altogether 11,75 x 8,25 inch), with intersecting letter folds and very mild creasing - in fine to very fine condition.

In parts:

"Morel m’écrit que vous avez la bonté de me donner des facilités et du temps pour payer le billet que vous avez entre les mains, je vous en remercie. Seulement veuillez me dire comment et dans quelle latitude vous comptez me donner les moyens de l’acquitter. Je ne puis en ce moment vous donner d’à compte mais je le pourrai au commencement de Juillet. À cette époque, ou je retournerai à Paris, ou je vous enverrai de Londres le plus fort à compte possible [...]"

Translated:

"Morel writes to me that you are kind enough to give me the opportunity and the time to pay for whoever you hold in your hands, for that I thank you. Please just tell me how and with what leeway you want to give me the opportunity to fulfill them. I can't bill you right now, but I will be able to do so in early July. Then I'll either go back to Paris, or I'll send you as much of London as possible on account [...]"
