Pyotr Alexeyevitch Kropotkin Autograph

Autograph letter signed, four pages (on two conjoined sheets), 4,5 x 7 inch, Viola/Bromley/Kent, 8.11.1902, in French, to "cher ami" (publisher Stock) - concerning some works and Malwida von Meysenbug*, written and signed by Pyotr Alexeyevitch Kropotkin in dark ink "Pierre Kropotkin",  with a horizontal letter fold, and very mild signs of wear - in fine to very fine condition.

"Mon cher ami - Mille excuses.
J'avais mis quelque part le contrat (toujours l'ordre !) et je ne la retrouvais plus […] Vous dites que vous allez réimprimer Autour d'une Vie. Est-ce que vous n'aviez pas les clichés? Il y a bien quelques petites erreurs à corriger. […] Gabriel Monod m'a dit qu'il y a eu dans le Temps un article où il était question des mémoires de Malvine Meisenbug et les miens. Pour le nouveau volume j'ai aussi pensé vous l'offrir. Ce serait La Science et l'Anarchie dans lequel je mettrais plusieurs choses, y compris l'État qui feraient ensemble un volume. J'ai reçu le Journal d'Angers et la Revue de l'Université de Bruxelles […] mais encore le roman de Grave, que je suis impatient de voir où le livre de Tailhade.

"My dear friend - A thousand apologies.
I had put the contract somewhere (always the order!) and I couldn't find it anymore […] You say that you are going to reprint `Autour d'une Vie`. Didn't you have the pictures? There are a few small errors to be corrected. […] Gabriel Monod told me that there was an article in `Le Temps` dealing with the memoirs of Malvine Meisenbug* and mine. For the new volume I also thought of offering it to you. It would be `Science and Anarchy` in which I would put several things, including the `State`, which together would make a volume. I received the `Journal d'Angers` and the `Revue de l'Université de Bruxelles` […] but also Grave's novel, which I am impatient to see or Tailhade's book.

* Malwida von Meysenbug (1816-1903) was a German writer, her work including Memories of an Idealist, the first volume of which she published anonymously in 1869. As well, she was a friend of Friedrich Nietzsche and Richard Wagner, and met the French writer Romain Rolland in Rome in 1890.
