Description

Typed letter signed, one page, 8 x 11 inch, `The University of Rochester - School of Medicine and Dentistry` stationery, New York, 18.09.1962, reply letter to Dr. Sidney C. Madden in Los Angeles - inter alia concerning information about the various members of the organization at UCLA and `Frieda and Oscar`, signed in black ink "my very best to everyone - George Whipple", with intersecting letter folds - in fine to very fine condition.

In parts:
"... I am grateful to you for all the information about the various members of the organization at UCLA. When Staff gets through his Vice Chancellorship, maybe he will have time to write to his friends. At the present time, however, it is practically impossible to get a word from him unless you send him a telegram!
We get a card occasionally from Frieda and Oscar, and perhaps they may get East, although I doubt it. Staff loves to plan buildings and anticipate developments, so that he is not truly happy in an older school where the changes are not frequent. We do add occasional bits of construction here so there would be new areas for you to look over if you did find yourself able to make a visit..."
