Description
Autograph note signed, one page - on a postcard, 6 x 4 inch, Zurich, July 1963 (postmark), in French, to Madame Edmonde Charles-Roux in Paris - Jean Genet sends information (presumably placements in motor races) about `Jacky`*, written and signed in blue ballpoint ink "Jean Genet" - additionally inscribed and signed vertically by Jacky (`Non! Ne me Felizitez pas, mais embrasse moi - Jacky`), attractively mounted (removable) for display with a photograph, shows Jean Genet in a half length portrait (altogether 11,75 x 8,25 inch), with very mild signs of wear - in nearly very fine condition.
"Chère Mme, est-ce que vous allez bien ?
Jacky 1er à Chiny.
1er à Monza.
Vous le félicitez?
moi, Je vous embrasse
Jean Genet"
Translated:
"Dear Madam, are you doing OK ?
Jacky 1st in Chiny.
1st in Monza.
Do you congratulate him?
me, I kiss you
John Genet"
* Likely Jacky Maglia. Jacky was the stepson of Genet’s lover Lucien Senemand. Genet actively encouraged Jacky to take up motor racing and later managed his fledging career.
