General Stabs eine Ehre genommen würde die Ihnen gehört [...]"

Translated:
" Today I finally believe that I have disengaged your and your friends beautiful work on Asia Minor. Gen. Thiele** should [...] make suggestions on how to publish and concentrate one of the works [...] I am not allowed to exert any influence on the type of execution [...] It would be lamentable if in the many activities that are now breaking out over the geographers of Asia Minor, the officers of the Pruss(ian) General Staff wouldn`t be honored with the honor that belongs to them [...]"

* Baron von Vincke had taken part together with the officers Fischer and Mühlbach in Moltke's military mission in the Ottoman Empire and on this occasion probably worked geographically - Helmuth von Moltke had been from 1835 to 1839 at the invitation of the Foreign Minister as a military advisor in the Ottoman Empire
** Probably the general and statesman Ludwig Gustav von Thiele
