"Dear and very eminent colleague,
Allow me to commend again to your benevolence my dear little protege - Nina Dox - who will take part in Mr. Duvernois's competition for admission to the upper class. I don't think I'm going too far in saying that Mr. Duvernois has a deep sympathy for her and great confidence in her next success. His progress has been remarkable this year.
Your very devoted colleague - L. Pasteur"
