Document signed by the Queen of the United Kingdom Great Britain & Ireland 1837-1901, two pages (on two conjoined sheets - with embossed seal), 8 x 12,5 inch, London, 14.01.1870, approval for Mr. Adrien Louis Cochelet to exercise his function as Consul General, signed in dark ink "Victoria R" - also signed by Lord Palmerston (Henry John Temple, 3. Viscount Palmerston, 1784-1865), with intersecting letter folds, and scattered minor signs of age wear - in fine condition.

Whereas our Good Brother The King of the French, has by a Commission leaving date the Twenty fifth day of September last, conctituted M. Adrien Louis Cochelet to be His Consul General in London, - and we having thereupon approved of the said Adrien Louis Cochelet as Consul General for our said Good Brother, according to the Commission before mentioned [...]"
