Description

Autograph letter signed, one page (with additional 1/2 page on a conjoined sheet by an unidentified person) - addressed to the reverse of the second sheet (with red wax seal), 7,75 x 9,5 inch, Steglitz, 1812, in old German, to bailiff Wanske - concerning an annual delivery of 9 bushels of rye and 6 bushels barley, signed in black ink "Beyme", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a portrait picture of Carl Friedrich von Beyme (altogether 16,5 x 11,75 inch), with browning, a small area of paper loss to an edge of the second sheet (not affecting inscription), and scattered mild signs of wear - in fine condition.

   Beyme."

Translated:

"You remember Mr. Wanske that I have tried several times to find out what kind of affliction it has with the 9 bushels of rye and 6 bushels of barley which, according to the mortgage certificate from Dahlem and Schmargendorff, the fiefdom holder Joachim zu Teltow has to deliver to Dahlem each year. Now this matter seems to come up because on the morning of September 9th: in the morning at 10 o'clock an appointment for the acceptance of the invoice in front of the Veitschen property at the council house in Teltow has been scheduled and the property owner in Dahlem has been invited to do so. I ask you to go to this appointment tomorrow, instead of me, to Teltow and get the necessary information about this subject. Steglitz the 8th September: 1812.
Beyme"
