(1770-1826) Duke of Albufera - French Marshal of the Empire and one of the most successful commanders of the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. He is regarded as one of the greatest generals of the Napoleonic Wars.
Document signed, one page - with red wax seal, 7,5 x 9 inch - inlaid into a slightly larger cardboard, `Armée D`Italie` (Army of Italy) letterhead, Nice, 10.02.1800, in French, partially printed document being an authorization for the citizen Jean Galle, signed by Louis-Gabriel Suchet in black ink "L. G. Suchet" - additionally signed and inscribed by an official, attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a portrait picture of Louis-Gabriel Suchet (altogether 16,5 x 11,75 inch), with intersecting letter folds, wrinkling and foxing - in nearly fine condition.
"D`apres les ordres du General [...] autorise pour le citoyen Jean Galle, Sergent au premier bataillon auxiliaire du departement du Var, à se rendre à Toulon pour affaires de famille et a y sejourner [...]"
