Typed letter signed, one page, 8,5 x 11 inch, blind-embossed personal letterhead, (Princeton, New Jersey), 18.06.1945 (towards the end of World War II), in German, to Mr. Ettlinger - concerning Informations about a Mr. Lasareff, an American aid operation for Belgian institutes, and Albert Einstein's new address, signed in black ink "A. Einstein", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a photograph, shows Albert Einstein in a chest-up portrait (altogether 16,5 x 11,75 inch), with intersecting letter folds, and mild signs of wear along the edges - in fine condition.

"Lieber Herr Ettlinger:
Ich danke Ihnen für Ihre ausführlichen Infor-/mationen über Herrn Lasareff. Unterdessen kam von ihm ein Brief, der die Nachricht von seiner wahrscheinlichen Anstellung an der Universität Liege bestätigt. Er erwähnt auch die rätselhafte Firma; diese haben wir durch einen Bekannten hier in Princeton merkwürdigerweise ausfindig machen können: Dow Corning, Midland, Michigan. Es scheint eine grosse Firma zu sein. Wenn Sie dorthin schreiben, wäre es vielleicht gut zu erwähnen, dass ich Herrn Reff besonders schätze und gerne bereit bin, über ihn Auskunft zu geben.
Auf Erkundigungen erfuhr ich, dass die amerikanische Hilfsaktion für Belgische Institute die Verteilung der Mittel nicht selbst besorgt, sondern dem belgischen Staat überlässt. Zu meinem Bedauern werde ich nicht in Princeton sein, wenn der einflussreiche Professor Duesberg hierherkommt sondern von nächster Woche an ist meine Adresse Knollwood, Saranac Lake N.Y. Hoffentlich gibt er mir Gelegenheit, schriftlich für Lasareff einzutreten.
