Autograph letter signed, two pages (on two conjoined sheets), 6 x 7 inch, `Hotel Plaza - Roma` stationery, Rome, 5.10.1929, in Italian, to businessman and Italian politician Piero Ginori Conti, Prince of Trevignano (1865-1939) - concerning a telegram from the mayor of Massa Marittima*, written and signed in black ink "Pietro Mascagni", with browning, a few small pinholes, mild foxing, and signs of wear to the edges  - in fine condition. Accompanied by the original envelope.

In parts:
"Il telegramma del podesta di Massa Marittima e vergognoso, ed is intendo di denunciare alla Direzione del Dopolavoro Centrale que esto atto deguo soltanto di un villanzone. [...]
   Ella, Signor Principe, gli ha sato una risposta esemplare, infliggendogli anche una buona e meritata lezione [...]"

Translated:
"The telegram from the mayor of Massa Marittima is shameful, and I intend to report this act of a simple scoundrel to the management of the Dopolavoro Centrale. [...]
   You, Prince, have given him an exemplary response, also teaching him a good and well-deserved lesson. [...]"
