Karl August von Hardenberg Autograph

Official letter signed, one page, 8,5 x 6,5 inch, Berlin, 30.03.1805*, in old German, the formal chancery communication is an enclosed `Publicandum` to be communicated to interested parties and published in newspaper within the consular district, signed in black ink "Hardenberg", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a portrait picture of Karl August von Hardenberg (altogether 11,75 x 16,5 inch), with intersecting letter folds, browning and scattered mild signs of wear - in fine condition.

Beikommendes Publicandum lassen Wir Euch in der Absicht zufertigen, damit Ihr nicht nur von dessen Inhalt allen bei Euch sich meldenden Interessenten Bekanntmachung desselben in Eurem Consulats-District durch Einrückung in die gelesensten dortigen Zeitungen bewirken möget. Sind Euch mit Gnaden gewogen. Berlin den 30. März 1805.

"By the Grace of God, Frederick William, King of Prussia
Our gracious greeting beforehand, most honorable and dear faithful subjects.
We send you the enclosed public notice with the intention that you not only communicate its contents to all interested parties who contact you, but also ensure its widespread dissemination throughout your consular district. This should be accomplished by printing it in the newspapers most widely read there. We are favorably disposed toward you. Berlin, March 30, 1805.

* Hardenberg was in a highly relevant phase of his career in 1805. He served as Prussian foreign minister from 1804 to 1806 and pursued Prussian territorial and neutrality policy in relation to Napoleonic France.
