Franz Liszt Autograph

Autograph letter signed, three pages - on two conjoined sheets (both sides), 4,75 x 7,5 inch, Weimar, 22.06.1850, in German, to an unnamed friend of Mrs. Schumann - requesting that he obtain either from the ticket office or Mrs. Schumann three tickets to the premiere of Schumann`s `Genoveva` (Op. 81), stipulating that two of the tickets be for box seats to accommodate the Princess [Carolyne zu Sayn-Wittgenstein?], inviting him to join the group and, in a postscript, remarking that the third ticket would be given to Liszt`s assistant Joachim Raff, written and signed in black ink "F. Liszt", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a portrait picture of Franz Liszt (altogether 11,75 x 16,5 inch), with marginal discoloration from prior mounting, and mild signs of age wear - in fine condition.

"Verehrter Freund,
   So eben zurückgekehrt von meinem kleinen Ausflug nach Coburg, hatte ich hier die erfreuliche Nachricht dass Schuman`s Oper erst Dienstag zum ersten mal in Leipzig aufgeführt wird. Sind Sie so gütig und sagen Sie Frau Schuman meinen besten Dank für diese Anzeigen, und ersuchen Sie Sie zugleich 3 Billets für mich zu reservieren. Im Falle die Billets noch für die Cassa zu haben sind, so thuen Sie mir den Gefallen und bestellen Sie ganz einfach 3 Plätze ohne weiter darüber Frau Schuman damit zu belästigen - jedenfalls wünsche ich ausdrücklich keine Billets gratis zu benutzen - und nachdem die Frau Fürstin wahrscheinlich auch an demselben Tag nach Leipzig kommen wird, so muss ich Sie bitten, dass 2 von diesen 3 Billeten auf Logen Plätze angewiesen werden.
   Noch besser, wenn möglich, besorgen Sie ganz einfach eine anständige Loge im 1sten Range, und schenken Sie uns das Vergnügen Ihrer Gesellschaft während der Vorstellung der Genoveva; dieses letzte Arrangement wäre mir unbedingt das angenehmste.
   Auf Wiedersehen also Dienstag [...]"

"Dear Friend,
   Having just returned from my little trip to Coburg, I received the delightful news that Schumann's opera will be performed for the first time in Leipzig on Tuesday. Would you be so kind as to express my sincere thanks to Mrs. Schumann for this announcement, and would you also ask her to reserve three tickets for me? If any tickets are still available at the box office, please do me the favor of simply ordering three seats without bothering Mrs. Schumann about it further - in any case, I expressly do not wish to use any tickets free of charge - and since the Princess will probably also be arriving in Leipzig on the same day, I must ask you to have two of these three tickets assigned for box seats.
   Even better, if possible, just arrange a decent box in the first balcony and grant us the pleasure of your company during the performance of Genoveva; this last arrangement would certainly be the most agreeable to me.
