Autograph letter signed, one page, 5,25 x 8,5 inch, Médan, 14.08.1891, in French, to Édouard Montagne (1830-1899, French author, librettist and journalist) - concerning the statue of Balzac by Rodin*, written and signed in dark ink "Emile Zola", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a photograph, shows Emile Zola in a chest-up portrait (altogether 12,5 x 9,25 inch), with mild signs of wear - in fine to very fine condition.
"Cher monsieur Montagne,
J’écris à Rodin, et je vous remettrai la copie de ma lettre, le lundi 24,
jour où j’espère aller à Paris.
Les statuts amendés par le conseil d’État,
me paraissent aussi fort acceptables. Je vous remettrai, également le

Translated:
"Dear Mr. Montagne,

* This statue was to be financed by the `Société des gens de lettres` (`Society of People of Letters of France' is a writers' association founded in 1838 by the notable French authors Honoré de Balzac, Victor Hugo, Alexandre Dumas, and George Sand),
then chaired by Zola, and of which Montagne was a delegate of the Committee.
