Letter signed, one page - with municipal coat of arms, 8 x 12,5 inch, `Le Conseil Fédéral Suisse` (Federal Council Switzerland) stationery, Berne, 19.08.1921, in French, congratulatory letter to Alfredo de Zayas y Alfonso (1861-1934, President of Cuba) - concerning his election as President of Cuba, signed by Edmund Schulthess (as President of the Confederation) and Adolf von Steiger (as Chancellor of the Confederation) in dark ink "Schulthess" & "Steiger", with slightly trimmed edges and scattered browning - in fine condition.

"... En vous présentant nos sincères félicitations pour cette marque insigne de la confiance de Vos concitoyens qui Vous ont appelé à la plus haute magistrature de l`Etat, nous pouvons assurer Votre Excellence que nous continuerons à faire tous nos efforts pour maintenir et resserrer encore davantage les liens d`amitié qui existent si heureusement entre nos deux pays..."
Translated:
"... In presenting our sincere congratulations to you for this mark of the confidence of Your fellow citizens who have called you to the highest office of the State, we can assure Your Excellency that we will continue to make every effort to maintain and further strengthen the friendship that exist so happily between our two countries..."
