Autograph letter signed, one page, 5,25 x 8 inch, `Ministere des Travaux Publics` letterhead, (Paris), `Saturday` (no year), in French, to a "mon cher ami" (a friend) - concerning a meeting and his ilnesses (Garnier was a notorious hypochondriac), written and signed in dark ink "Ch. Garnier", attractively mounted (removable) for display with a photograph, shows Garnier in a half length portrait (altogether 11,75 x 8,25 inch), with a central horizontal letter fold and with scattered mild signs of wear to the edges - in fine to very fine condition.

In parts:
"J`accepte avec plaisir l`invitation que vous m`a donné pour votre banquet de mercredi, mais selon! je ne puis en ce moment etre tout-a-fait certain de pouvoir m`y rendre..."

Translated:
"I accept with pleasure the invitation you gave me for your banquet on Wednesday, but according! I can not at this moment be quite certain of being able to go there ... "
